Cassie Hoffmann | Author
"I've been working with Aliya for over a year now on different projects, and she's been instrumental in helping give me direction in my writing and story structures. She points out or asks questions about things that I hadn't considered before, and it's really helped strengthen my writing. Aliya's dedication to a good story and a good experience has been extremely helpful as I begin the next steps in my writing career.”

Not Just Your Gay Best Friend: Incorporating LGBTQ+ side characters as an ally
As writers, we want to tell stories that reflect the world around us, which means including perspectives from a lived experience outside of our own. In this workshop, we’ll explore what it looks like to incorporate LGBTQ+ side characters into our worlds in meaningful ways (without making them feel one-dimensional or tokenized), how to avoid common stereotypes and language pitfalls, and what it means to include a realistic, queer romance.
“Aliya is hands down, one of the best beta readers I've ever worked with. She beta-read my novel and provided valuable insight that, I believe, made a world of difference in the final stages of editing.”
Ivy Whitaker | Author of Boys Don’t Dance
“She’s become my most trusted critique partner over the years, treating my work with gracious enthusiasm and encouraging me to dive deeper and take on the necessary challenges of improving my stories and style.”
Ashley Johnson | LTJ Editing
“I’m so grateful when Aliya reviews my work; her comments are always insightful, touch on relative current day issues that I might have overlooked, and highlight the parts she enjoys alongside what needs to be tweaked. Her positivity about stories is infectious and her knowledge with pace, flow, and content is spot on.
A.B. Herron | Author of The Elemental Wolf Series
“I found her to be thorough and kind with her feedback, and willing to discuss and explain comments and suggestions.”
Britt Laux | Author of The Forest Witch
